Transitions

Definition:

A transition is the technique used to move from the end of one shot to the beginning of the next shot. Transitions perform the same role as punctuation in prose.

Uses:

Transitions are used to link a series of shots to create a film sequence. Depending on the transitions used, a different meaning may be created.
