The director

Definition:

The director is the individual who directs everyone associated with the production to realise his or her creative vision or visualisation of the script.

Role:

Often described as the auteur (author) of the film the director is responsible, in consultation with department heads (production design, art department, hair and make-up, sound, music, camera, editor etc.) and cast, for telling the story.
