Credits
Definition:
The credits are a list of all the cast and technical crew involved in making a film. Usually the major participants, such as the director, producer, writer and actors, are mentioned at the beginning of a film, while the complete list of participants is given at the end of a film.
The breakdown of labour on a film set is very specific, so the list of credits tends to be quite long and detailed.
Uses:
The most common credits sequence is white typeface over a black background, however, credits are often used creatively as part of the establishing shot at the beginning of a film with text superimposed over film footage.
Credits combined with music and visuals can indicate the style, genre and pace of a film.
