Director of photography or cinematographer
Definition:
The director of photography is responsible with the lighting department for capturing the director's vision on film.
Role:
The director of photography manages the camera, lenses, lights and their position and movement to ensure that the colour, texture, tone and light of the film best match the vision of the director. The director of photography also works with the film laboratory, the editor and the producer to manage film stock and its processing, grading and delivery.
