Casting

Definition:

Casting is the process of choosing actors to play the various characters in the film.

Role:

Usually a casting agent is used. The casting agent is briefed by the producer and director as to the type of actor required and will then contact actors' agents to organise screen tests. Extras, those people with non-speaking parts, are cast by Extras Casting Agencies.
