This course is about creating a movie event. There’s no better way to liven up a presentation then with a memorable movie you have recorded.

However, groans shouldn’t be the first thing you hear when you start to play your movie. The sound of someone snoring shouldn’t follow shortly after you hit Play, either.

And if the room empties before you even cue up your video, you have big problems. We’re here to help… with easy tips for editing hours of boring video (you mighn't think so, but others..???) into the perfect (well as best as you can) movie.

One of the easiest ways to spice up an armload of video is with a little editing. The question is, with all you have to do , what’s the easiest way to find the hidden gems within hours of recorded video?

video and music clip for TweeekageThe answer is video-editing software on your computer. It lets you polish all that poorly shot video (like this example!), delete the not-so-interesting footage, and set everything to music, until what you’re left with is something your audience will hopefully enjoy.

NOTE: this video including editing was done in under an hour. However, I forgot the tripod. Really necessary when panning and zooming. So that is the excuse for the bumpiness. But I have tried to show how easy it is to create a video for your website or elsewhere in a very short period of time. Click image to view.

What’s more, saving the files to your hard drive gives you quick and easy access to your digital footage. And you can save your masterpieces to optical disc (CD and DVD), a more durable storage solution than tape.

In these courses, we will be using the following softwaredepending on what you have available.

  • Premier (Macintosh and Windows)
  • After Effects (Macintosh and Windows)
  • Pinnacle Studio (Windows)
  • iMovie (for Macintosh computers)
  • MovieMaker (Windows)
